7 Correctly Positioned Tongue in Groove

2. Position the right-hand top casting in the main arm
and slide the groove over the tongue.

The groove in the top casting must slide over
the tongue in the main arm.

8 Securing the Right-Hand Front Channel

3. Secure the right-hand top front channel to the right-
hand top casting with the screw and washer.
4. Position the left-hand top casting in the main arm and
slide the groove over the tongue. See Figure 6.

9 Securing the Left-Hand Front Channel

5. Secure the left-hand top front channel to the left-
hand top casting with the screw and washer.
6. Straighten the bent end of cotter pin.
7. Rotate the fabric roller tube (as if unrolling the
awning) by pulling bottom of the FRTA toward you.

This will reduce pressure on cotter pin for easier
removal.
8. While holding the FRTA, pull the cotter pin out and
discard.
I
Removing the cotter pin will release the factory
preset torsion (spring) tension.
5.3 Determining the Awning
Location

WARNING: IMPACT AND/OR CRUSH
HAZARD.
Verify that the mounting surface on the RV is flat,
that it has solid structural backing where the
fasteners penetrate the surface, and that it will safely
and securely support the awning. Otherwise, the
awning may become unstable and could detach,
bend, or collapse. Failure to obey this warning
could result in death or serious injury.
