25 Enter the following commands to save the current versions of the /etc/ioconfig
and /stand/ioconfig files:
mv /etc/ioconfig /etc/ioconfig.old
mv /stand/ioconfig /stand/ioconfig.old
26 Enter the following command to create new version of the two ioconfig files:
ioinit -c
27 Enter the following command to run sam:
sam
28 Select the X server configuration menu.
29 Select the new graphics card by scrolling the cursor until the selection you want
is highlighted. The Visualize-EG selection is the built-in graphics.
30 From the Actions menu, select
31 After selecting the new graphics, insure it is the correct one by selecting the
Identify Screen action. Pressing the space bar should cause the console screen
to blink briefly.
32 Go to the menu again and select the Add Display selection to add the display to
the X server configuration.
33 Exit out of sam and answer "yes" to the save changes request.
34 Exit sam and enter the following command to get out of single user mode and ini-
tiate a normal login sequence:
init 4
The system continues the boot sequence normally and the HP VUE or HP CDE
login window appears.
35 When you boot the system for the first time, you are prompted for the LAN ID.
Enter the LAN ID you recorded in the beginning of this document.
