Installing the New Main Tray Assembly
17 At the prompt, enter the following command to enter the configuration menu:
co
18 Enter the following command to display the monitor configuration listing:
mo list
The listing will show the built-in graphics (graphics(0)) and the graphics adapter
in slot 1 (graphics(1) or slot 2 (graphics(2).
19 Configure the console path for your graphics adapter with the following syntax:
mo graphics(n) t
where n is the slot where your adapter is installed and n is the monitor type from
the listing.
For detailed information on setting the console path see Appendix D of the new
Owner's Guide which came with your upgrade kit.
20 Power off the system, disconnect the EVC adapter cable from the built-in video
connector and your monitor. Then connect the 15-pin connector on your moni-
tor's video cable to the connector on your graphics adapter in slot 1 or 2.
21 Power on the system. If a message to press Esc to stop the boot process is dis-
played, then press Esc.
This stops the boot process and brings you to the Boot Console Handler prompt.
22 Enter the following command:
bo pri
23 When prompted as to whether or not you want to interact with the ISL
answer yes.
24 at the ISL prompt, enter the following command:
hpux -is
The system boots in single user mode and is at a root login. The console goes
blank for a approximately twenty seconds during the boot process and then
resumes.
When you boot the system for the first time, you are prompted for the LAN ID.
Enter the LAN ID you recorded in the beginning of this document.
