  • Page 3 • • Upgrading your Model C100/110 to a Model C160L Update HP-UX to version 10.20 or later. Determine the LAN ID of your system Power off the workstation and any peripheral devices, unplug the power cords, and disconnect any peripheral cables.
  • Page 4 • Graphics adapters may only be installed in slots 1 and 2 of the upgraded system. • The A4244A HP Visualize-48 graphics adapter must be reconfigured to a A4211A by a Hewlett-Packard service representative. • The EVC adapter cable is required to connect your monitor to the Visualize-EG built-in graphics.

    Before starting the upgrade, use the following procedure to prepare the workstation: 1 The workstation must be running HP-UX 10.2 or later to accommodate the 2 Determine the workstations LAN ID by entering the following at the prompt: 3 Power off your workstation by pressing the power button on the front panel.

WARNING: To avoid electrical shock, make sure you unplug the power cable from the wall outlet and the system unit before proceeding any further.

Make sure that the notched end of the memory module is toward the white ejector tab (to- ward the rear of the main tray), as shown in Figure 8.

Otherwise skip to the subsection titled Option Board Installation. Graphics Adapter Considerations If you are installing a graphics option, read the information about the unsup- ported graphics listed on page 2 first.

Be sure to remove these components before attempting to install the option boards.

Make sure that the hole in the board’s handle aligns with the guide pin on the back panel, as shown in Figure 12. 7 Press in firmly on both ends of the option board at the same time to make sure that it is firmly seated in the backplane connector.
