FRU Removal and Replacement
System Fans and Speaker
Before removing the fans, remove the Main Tray
Assembly from the system unit.
Perform the following steps to remove the system
fans:
1 Locate the desired fan or speaker connector on the back-
plane, push in the tab on the connector and disconnect it
from the backplane, as shown in Figure 42.
Disconnecting the Fan and Speaker Connectors
2 Pull up on the fan or speaker wire to remove it from the
slot in the backplane or fan shroud.
