Manual Feeder Cleaning

If originals that have been fed through the feeder have streaks or appear dirty, clean the feeder's scanning area.
Clean the feeder's scanning area with a cloth which is wrung after being dampened in water, and then wipe them clean with a
soft, dry cloth.
If the document feed scanning area is dirty, documents may not be scanned clearly, and the size of the document may not be
detected correctly.
This procedure is necessary only if the Duplex Color Image Reader Unit-F1 is attached.
Clean the original Scanning area (thin glass strip).

Open the covers.

Open the document scan cover carefully, as not to scratch the platen glass.
1 Open the feeder.
2 Clean the original scanning
area (thin glass strip) with
a cloth dampened in water,
and then wipe the area with
a soft dry cloth.
1 Pull the lever above the
feeder, and open the
document scan cover.
2 Open the inside cover.
