4. Slide the charged battery into the OmniBook until it clicks into place.

The battery module fits into either the plug-in module bay or the battery bay. Slide
the front panel of the battery right or left so that it fits into the desired bay.
Caution
Do not mutilate, puncture, or dispose of the battery in fire. The battery can
burst or explode, releasing hazardous chemicals. A rechargeable battery pack
must be recycled or disposed of properly. See

The OmniBook uses Advanced Power Management (APM) to conserve battery
power. You can take steps to optimize your battery operating time.
Follow these suggestions to conserve battery power.
Plug in the ac adapter, especially while using the CD-ROM drive, the floppy disk
drive, or any external connections such as a PC Card.
Put the OmniBook in
while. Press the blue power button (or Start, Suspend).
Put the OmniBook in
session, but will not be using the computer for several hours or more (Fn+F12).
Turn the OmniBook
more. Click Start menu, Shut Down.
Turn down the brightness of the display to the lowest comfortable level (Fn+F1).
This reduces the backlight power and extends the life of your OmniBook display.
