Editing Options

About Title Editing

Once you have recorded a Title to a
DVD+R/RW disc, you can name, protect,
overwrite, or erase it using the Title
Editor menu.You can also hide or show
chapters within the selected Title.

Press PLAY or GUIDER
DVD Disc Menu.

Use the  keys to select the
desired Title, then press EDIT to dis-
play the "Title Edit" menu.

Naming a Title

You can name your recorded Titles (up to
25 characters).

On the Title Edit menu, select Title
Name > Edit, then press ENTER.
• The keypad appears.

Select the desired characters from the
keypad, pressing ENTER after each
entry.

When finished, select "Finish" and
press ENTER.
• The Title name appears in the Disc
Menu.To view longer Title names,
switch to Text View; see page 39.

Protecting a Title

You can protect a title on your disc from
being accidentally erased or overwritten.

On the Title Edit menu, select Protec-
tion, then press ENTER.

Turn Protection on or off, then press
ENTER.

Overwriting a Title

You can choose to overwrite an existing
title (DVD+RW discs only).
On DVD+R discs, each new recording
is always placed immediately after
the previous recording, so the original
recordings cannot be overwritten.

On the Title Edit menu, select Over-
write, then press ENTER.

Turn Overwrite on or off, then press
ENTER.

Erasing a Title

You can erase recorded titles from both
DVD+R and DVD+RW discs.

On the Title Edit menu, select Erase,
then press ENTER.

The selected title is deleted.
• After erasing a title from a DVD+R
disc, the erased space cannot be
utilized.
Hiding/Showing Chapters
You can hide or show individual chapters
within a recorded Title.

On the Title Edit menu, select Chapter
Edit, then press ENTER.

The selected title starts playing.
• Select the Hide icon to hide
the current chapter.
• Select the Show icon to show
the hidden chapter.
