Changing batteries

Your notebook must be turned off while changing the batteries.

Important
To replace the main battery:

If your notebook is on, save all work, shut down Windows, and turn off
the power.

Close the cover.

Undock the notebook if docked. For more information, see "Separating
from the docking station" on page 24.

Turn your notebook over.

Slide the locking battery release latch to the unlock position.
Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced.
Replace only with the Gateway Solo 3450 Li-Ion battery.
Discard used batteries according to the manufacturer's
instructions.
The battery used in this device may present a fire or
chemical burn hazard if mishandled. Do not disassemble,
heat above 212°F (100°C), or incinerate. Dispose of used
battery promptly. Keep away from children.
Two different types of batteries are available for your
notebook. The standard battery may be used at any time.
The Long Life battery may only be used when the notebook
is not in the docking station.
