HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY
GROUNDED PLUG
To reduce the risk of electric shock this appliance has a grounded plug
(2 blades and 1 pin). If the plug does not fit fully into the electrical outlet
contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way or use
an adaptor.

BEFORE FIRST USE

1. Read all instructions carefully and keep them for future reference.
2. Remove all packaging.
3. Ensure that the filter is installed in the kettle. If not, see the
Installing the Filter section on page 5 for directions.
4. Plug the Power Base into a 120V AC wall outlet.
5. Fill the Kettle with 1 liter (4 cups) of cold tap water, place on the
Power Base and press the On/Off Switch to the On position and bring
to a boil.
6. Once water has boiled, open the cover and add 500 ml (2 cups) of
white vinegar. Let stand for at least 1 hour or overnight. Discard
water and vinegar solution.
7. Fill the kettle to the MAX fill line with cold tap water. Bring to a boil
and discard. Repeat.
8. The kettle is now ready to use.
HOW TO USE
1. Open the Lid by pressing the button at the top of the handle and fill
with a minimum of 500 ml (2 cups) of water.
2. DO NOT attempt to fill the Kettle while it is plugged into the wall outlet.
DO NOT use for other than boiling water. Other liquids will
contaminate the interior of the kettle.
DO NOT fill past the MAX level indicated on the Water Level Window.
Overfilling may cause water to spit out when boiling.
3. Close the Lid.
