Adapting the settings to hybrid systems

Menu: Hybrid system
In an installation with a hybrid system, there are two different
heat sources. One heat source for using regenerative energy
generates heat from geothermal heat, from the air, from
biomass or from solar energy. In addition, a conventional heat
source provides heat generated from oil, gas or electricity.
If a hybrid system is installed, the Hybrid system menu is
displayed.
In this case, the hybrid system consists of a heat pump and a
separate gas. oil or pellet heat source.
Depending on the current situation and heat requirements,
either the heat pump or the gas/oil heat source may offer a
more favourable energy/price ratio.
The heat pump control constantly compares the current output
data from the heat pump with the set energy/price ratio to
check whether it is more economical to operate the system
using the heat pump or the gas/oil heat source. Based on this,
either the heat pump or gas/oil heat source is operated.
The energy/price ratio for electricity/fossil fuel must be
adjusted regularly to the actual price ratios in the Hybrid
system > Energy:price ratio menu.
The energy/price ratio is calculated using the following
formula:
Energy:price ratio = (Cost of electricity per kWh / Cost of gas
per kWh) X 0, 902
Energy:price ratio = (Cost of electricity per kWh / Cost of oil
per liter) X 0, 902
Example:
Cost of electricity: 24 ct/kWh
Cost of gas: 8 ct/kWh
Energy:price ratio = (24 Cent/ 8 Cent) X 0, 902 = 2,7

This is the ratio which must be entered in the Hybrid system >
Energy:price ratio menu.
The tables below can also be used to determine the energy/
price ratio.
