The Stylus Pro XL is standard-equipped with an 8-bit parallel and serial interface.

During the self-test mode
During the demonstration mode
During the default setting mode
When a fatal error occurs
The ERROR signal is active (LOW) under the following conditions:
When a paper-out error occurs
When a no ink cartridge error occurs
When a fatal error occurs
The PE signal is active (HIGH) under the following conditions:
When a paper-out error occurs
