DIP switch 2
If you are using a software application that assumes 66 lines will fit on
each page, set this switch to ON. The printer reduces the line spacing by
a factor of 14/15, which is from 63 lines per page to 66 lines per page if
line spacing is set to 6 lines per inch (lpi). This function is available only
when line spacing is 6 lpi or 8 lpi.
DIP switch 3
When this switch is OFF, the printer performs a normal carriage return
(CR). Set this switch to ON if you want the printer to perform a line
feed after each carriage return (CR + LF).
DIP switch 4
If you are using letter-size paper, set this switch OFF; this set the page
length to 11 inches. If you are using A4-size paper, set this switch ON;
this sets the page length to 12 inches.
DIP switch 5
When this switch is OFF, the printer uses the Epson Italics character set,
which includes italic characters. When this switch is ON, the printer uses
the Epson Graphics character set, which is the same as the IBM USA
code page 437 (this character set includes symbols, lines, corners, and
European characters). See Appendix C, Printer Mode Command
Summaries and Character Sets, for information on the character sets.
DIP switch 6, 7, 8
These switches allow you to select one of eight international character
sets. These character sets provide you with the characters and symbols
used in other languages. See Appendix C, Printer Mode Command
Summaries and Character Sets, for information on the character sets.
