Commissioning the Vitogate

Making the connection to the Vitogate 300 configuration webserver

An IP address is usually automatically assigned to the
computer if the DHCP server has been activated.

Calling up the Vitogate 300 configuration webserver

Open the Vitogate 300 configuration screens:
Start web browser:
■ Enter IP address 169.254.0.1 into the address line.
■ User name: vitogate
■ Password: viessmann
Note
After conversion to HTTPS (see online help), the
password must be changed.

Functions of the reset button

There are several options for resetting the
Vitogate 300.

Restarting the Vitogate 300

Press and hold the reset button on the Vitogate 300 for
at least 1 s, but no longer than 5 s.
While the reset button is pressed, the status LED
flashes red. The status LED is off during the restart.
The status LED then lights up in the same colour as
before the restart.

Temporarily activating the static IP address on the Vitogate 300

If, for example, the current IP address of the Vito-
gate 300 is unknown, yet you still want to access the
Vitogate 300 without restoring its factory settings:
The Vitogate 300 is temporarily assigned the static IP
address 169.254.0.1.

Temporarily activating the DHCP server of the Vitogate 300

The Vitogate 300 has an integral DHCP server. It can
be temporarily activated as described below.

If a static IP address is to be used, make the following
settings on the computer:
■ IP address: 169.254.0.2 (or higher) or < 255
■ Subnet mask: 255.255.0.0
■ Default gateway: Do not enter anything here.
The gateway default screen is called up.

Vitogate 300 online help.
Press and hold the reset button on the Vitogate 300 for
at least 5 s, but no longer than 10 s.
While the reset button is pressed, the status LED
flashes green. As long as the DHCP server is deacti-
vated, the status LED flashes green. The IP address
169.254.0.1 is set until the next restart (see chapter
"Restarting the Vitogate 300").
Press and hold the reset button on the Vitogate 300 for
at least 10 s, but no longer than 15 s.
While the reset button is pressed, the status LED
flashes green. As long as the DHCP server is deacti-
vated, the status LED flashes alternately red and
green. The DHCP server is activated until the next
restart (see chapter "Restarting the Vitogate 300").
