There are three selections for Power Management, two of which have fixed
mode settings.
Min. Power Saving
Max. Power Saving
User Defined
ACPI Sleep Type
This item specifies the power saving mode for ACPI function. If your
operating system supports ACPI, such as Windows 98SE, Windows ME and
Windows 2000, you can choose to enter the Standby mode in S1(POS) or S3
(STR) fashion through the setting of this field. Options are:
S1(POS)
S3(STR)

Note :Enable this for O.S. with APM like Windows
Minimum power management. Suspend
Mode = 1hr., and Doze Mode = 1 hr.
Maximum power management —
Suspend Mode = 1 min., and Doze Mode
= 1 min.
Allows you to set each mode individu-
ally. When not disabled, each of the
ranges are from 1 min. to 1 hr. except for
HDD Power Down which ranges from 1
min. to 15 min.
The S1 sleep mode is a low power state. In this state,
no system context (CPU or chipset) is lost and
hardware maintains all system context.
The S3 sleep mode is a power-down state in which
power is supplied only to essential components such
as main memory and wake-capable devices and all
system context is saved to main memory. The
information stored in memory will be used to restore
the PC to the previous state when an "wake up" event
occurs.
System BIOS will ignore APM when power managing
the system.
System BIOS will wait for APM's prompt before it
enters any PM mode
