CAUTION
WHEN CHECKING THE DEFLECTION OF THE CHAIN, THE CHAIN MUST NOT
BE ABLE TO TOUCH THE UNDERSIDE PART OF THE SWINGARM IN THE PO-
SITION INDICATED BY THE ARROW.
Move the vehicle forwards to check the vertical deflection of the chain in other
positions; the chain deflection must be constant throughout the entire rotation
of the wheel.
if the clearance is uniform, but greater or less than 30 mm (1.18 in), carry out the
adjustment.
CAUTION
IF THE CLEARANCE IS GREATER IN SOME POSITIONS IT MEANS THAT SOME
ELEMENTS OF THE CHAIN ARE CRUSHED OR HAVE SEIZED UP. IN THIS CASE
THE CHAIN SHOULD BE REPLACED.
