Troubleshooting

Failure
The unit can not be switched on. No voltage in the socket.
Water leaks from the lower part
of the unit.
Coffee leakage from the filter
holder.
Coffee is pouring out into the
cup too long or is not running
at all.
Ready coffee has a foreign
smell.
Coffee slops over the edges of
the filter.
Steam doesn't froth milk.
– Switch the steam supply on turning the knob (11)
counterclockwise.
– Switch the steam supply off by setting the knob (11)
to the position «OFF».
– Switch the coffee maker off pressing the button (7)
, the button indicator will go out.
How to make a good espresso
• Use only fresh ground coffee for "espresso" coffee
makers.
• Slightly tamp the ground coffee in the filter (16),
you can do it with the back side of the measuring
spoon (17).
• Coffee strength depends on the quality and grinding
of coffee beans.
• If coffee is pouring out too long, this means the
coffee powder is too fine or it is tamped too strongly.
Descaling
For effective operation of the coffee maker we recom-
mend to remove scale every month and more often
when using "hard" water.
Regular descaling extends the coffee maker operating
life and eliminates the necessity for repairing it.
Cause
The plug is not completely inserted
into the socket.
The water tray is overfilled.
Loose connection of filter and boiler
gasket, ground coffee got on the
edges of the filter.
The coffee powder is too fine or it is
tamped too strongly in the filter.
Wrong process of scale removal in
the boiler
Improper storage of coffee
There's is too much coffee in the filter
or the coffee in the filter is tamped
too strongly.
Low temperature of the outgoing
steam.
The tank is too big or of improper
size.
You used skimmed milk

Solution
Make sure that the socket is
operating.
Check whether the plug is completely
inserted into the socket.
Pour out water from the tray.
Clean the edges of the filter.
Use ground coffee for "espresso"
coffee makers.
Define the coffee tampering degree in
the filter experimentally.
See the chapters «Washing the boiler»
and «Descaling» and clean the unit
several times.
Use fresh ground coffee. Keep coffee
in a dry cool place.
Do not overfill the filter with excessive
amount of coffee.
Froth milk only when the button (7)
without flashing.
Use a narrow high container for
frothed milk.
Use whole milk with fat content 4-6%.
Untimely descaling, non-observance of these instruc-
tions and mishandling the coffee maker are not covered
by warranty.
1. Make sure that the unit is switched off and the knob
(11) is in the «OFF» position.
2. Make a citric acid solution (2 teaspoons per 1 liter of
water) and pour this solution into the water tank (10).
Cover the tank (10) with the lid (9) and then place it
on the coffee maker body.
3. Insert the filter (16) into the holder (15) (pic. 1).
4. Attach the filter holder (15) to the boiler without add-
ing coffee into the filter (16) (pic. 2, 3).
5. Place a suitable cup on the grid (2).
6. Insert the power plug into the mains socket.
7. Switch the coffee maker on with the button (6)
, the button indicator will be flashing.
8. Wait till the boiler heats up (the button (6)
indicator will stop flashing), and then press the but-
ton (5)
.
9. To descale the steam supply system press the but-
ton (7)
, the button (7) indicator will be flash-
ing. Wait till the boiler heats up (the button (7)
indicator will stop flashing).
