Printer test

The printer test enables the printout of test prints. The standard test printout consists of lines and blackened rectangles, which
can be used to assess the printed image quality and the printer form feed. Other test printouts output the individual character
sets of the device.
The EFAS display outputs the action of the printer. If there is no paper in the print module, or the module was removed, a corre-
sponding status message is briefly displayed.

Card reading test

The EFAS does not offer a special card reading test. EFAS constantly checks the condition of the card during operation. If errors
occur, they can be identified by the DTCs. (see 12.3)
Note
Please observe that in case of malfunction of the card reader function, a cause of the malfunction could be the
tachograph card itself.
10.6.4

Display unit test

The display unit test requires an optical inspection of the display. For this purpose, black squares, similar to a chessboard
pattern, are displayed alternately, so that all image points (pixels) are controlled in an alternating manner. Based on the display
observed, it can be verified whether all pixels are displayed correctly.

Another test for the display unit inverts all pixels (inverse display):
