Section 1: Getting Started This section explains how to start using your phone by first configuring your hardware, activating your service, and then setting up your Voicemail. Setting Up Your Phone Prior to use it is necessary to install both the battery and SIM into their corresponding internal compartments.

Carefully slide the SIM card into the SIM card socket (as shown) until the card locks into place. • Make sure that the card’s gold contacts face into the phone and that the upper-left angled corner of the card is positioned as shown. Plug the flat end of the Travel Charger into the Power/ Accessory Interface connector and the other end into a standard AC wall outlet. When charging is finished, remove the flat end from the interface connector jack on the phone. Warning!: If your handset has a touch screen display, please note that a touch screen responds best to a light touch from the pad of your finger.

When you first turn on your phone, you will need to set up a few things. When the Welcome screen displays, touch the green android to begin. The Set up your Google Account screen is displayed. If you already have a Google account, tap Sign in, otherwise, tap Create and follow the onscreen instructions to create a Google account.

A Google account password is required for Google applications. There are two main keypad layout keys that will change the on- screen keys within the QWERTY keypad. The available Text Input modes are: Sym and Abc. Symbol/Numeric Mode: activates the number, ?123 symbol, and emoticon keys. ABC Mode: activates the default alphabet keys. Section 5: Contacts and Your Address Book This section allows you to manage your daily contacts by storing their name and number in your Address Book. Address Book entries can be sorted by name, entry, or group. Y Note: When storing an Address Book entry into your SIM card, note that only the name, phone number, group, and slot location are initially offered as fields (some SIM cards may allow an address as well).

Follow the on-screen instructions. Movies The Movies application allows you to rent movies to watch on your phone. From the Home screen, tap Applications Unknown sources. The first time you access Qik Lite, tap Sign up to create your Qik account and follow the onscreen prompts. The instructions will help you download the app from the Market. Otherwise, tap Log in. Tap the Username and Password fields and enter your information, then tap Log in.

Selecting and Using the Pictures From the Image viewer, you have access to both macro functions (zoom, crop, and rotate) and menu options. Tap and slide the Camera mode button down to Camcorder Mode. Using the phone’s main display screen as a viewfinder, adjust the image by aiming the camcorder at the subject. Tap the Video key ( ) to begin shooting video. The red light will blink while recording.
