j Using the Self-timer
Use the self-timer when you want to be in the picture. The self-timer can
be used in any shooting mode.
Cancelling the self-timer
Press the <iQ> button and press the <U> key to select a mode
other than <Q>.
Do not stand in front of the camera when you press the shutter button to
start the self-timer. Doing so will throw off the focus.
Use a tripod when you use the self-timer.
When using the self-timer to shoot only yourself, use focus lock (p.42) for
an object at about the same distance as where you will be.
To cancel the self-timer after it starts, press the <

Take the picture.

Focus the subject and press the
shutter button completely.
The beeper will sound, the self-timer
lamp will blink, and the shot will be
taken about 10 sec. later. Two
seconds before the picture is taken,
the beeping will be faster and the self-
timer lamp will stay on.
During the self-timer operation, the
LCD monitor counts down the
seconds until the picture is taken.
