0 Using the Self-timer
The self-timer function allows you to take a picture
when you are some distance from the camera.

Set the mode to Self*
timer.
• Press the S button.
^ The s icon appears on
the LCD panel.
• If you press the
O
button
again, the
disappears
and Self-timer rrrode is
cancelled.

Compose the picture
and press the shutter
button.
^The red-eye reduction lamp
flashes(once a second)
and a 10-second
countdown is displayed on
the LCD panel.
^The fMclure is taken after
apfvoximalely 10 seconds.
• To cancel the self-timer,
press the <9 button.

Do not stand directly in frOTt of the camera when you
press the shutter buflon as this will result In the picture
being out of focus.
• Approximately 2 seconds before the shutter is
released, the tamp begins to flash rmre rapidly. If the
red-eye reduction function and the flash are both
used, the lamp stays lit for the last 2 seconds.
• Self-timer shots can be taken for the 4 minutes that
the S icon is displayed.
• Set the camera ixi a stable surface or use a tripod to
hold the camera steady.
• The Focus Lock function can be used in the same
way as in normal photo^afdiy.
