eThe table below lists the warning messages displayed on the
top display panel or in the viewfinder.
Remedy
i Set lens to minimum aperture.
i Set the external flash mode to TTL, or set the
camera's exposure mode to "S", "A" or "M".
i Turn the power off and replace lithium
batteries with new ones.
i Attach CPU lens (except IX-Nikkor). With a
non-CPU lens, set the exposure mode to "M"
and set the aperture with lens' aperture ring.
i Focus manually.
i In "P" mode, use ND filtre (If the warning
indication remains after performing above
remedies in "S" or "A" mode, use ND filtre as
well).
i In "S" mode, select faster shutter speed.
i In "A" mode, select smaller aperture (larger f-
number).
i In "P" mode, use flash (If the warning
indication remains after performing above
remedies in "S" or "A" mode, use flash as
well).
i In "S" mode, select slower shutter speed.
i In "A" mode, select larger aperture (smaller f-
number).
i When the subject is too bright, use ND filtre
and when the subject is too dark, use flash
too the electronic analog exposure display

i Cancel the "

i Release the shutter as it is to take a flash

charge or the camera mechanism
has stopped due to cold and
cannot take pictures.

In certain cases, due to static electricity or poorly loaded batteries, the FinePix S2 Pro
microcomputer may turn the camera off, even with fresh, properly installed batteries. For the same
reason, the operation of camera may not advance properly during either "USB mode" or "IEEE1394
mode". In each of these cases, to resume operation, simply turn the power off, then turn it on
again. Or, remove and reinstall the batteries.
Remedy
i Switch the camera off, close the slot cover,
switch the camera back on and try again.
i Switch the camera off and replace the AA-
size batteries or load new AA-size batteries.
Then switch the camera back on and try
again.
i Switch the camera off and replace the lithium
batteries. Then switch the camera back on
and try again.
If this does not resolve the problem, set the
focusing mode to "M", release the shutter and
briefly switch the camera off.
