Important: Ensure that the drive is fully seated and is all the way into the system.

Preparing the 9040-MR9 system for operation after installing a disk drive or solid-state
drive
To prepare the system for operation after you install a disk drive or solid-state drive (SSD), complete the
steps in this procedure.
Procedure
1. Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on and that the ESD clip is plugged
into a ground jack or connected to an unpainted metal surface. If not, do so now.
2. Choose from the following options:
• If your system has the power turned off, continue with step "3" on page 12.
• If your system has the power turned on, continue with step "6" on page 13.
3. Using your labels, reconnect the power cords (A) to the system unit.
