MAINTENANCE

9.1

Warnings

The procedures detailed in this chapter must
be carried out only by a professionally
qualified person. Thus you are advised to
contact an Authorised Service Agent.
For Ireland (IE), the servicing work must be
carried out by a competent Person
For efficient and continuous operation of the
boiler you are advised to have, at least once a
year, maintenance and cleaning done by an
Approved Service engineer.
Isolate the appliance from the electricity
supply by turning off the fused spur isolation
switch adjacent to the appliance and turn off
the gas cock, before carrying out any pro-
cedures, whatsoever, for cleaning, mainten-
ance, opening or dismantling boiler panels.
9.2
Dismantling the external
panels
Front panel
1 Loosen the three screws A (Fig. 9.1).
2 Lift and remove the panel.

3 Loosen the screws B. Bring the bottom of the
panels away from the boiler and lift them, free-
ing them from the top hooks (Fig. 9.2).

Emptying the d.h.w. system

1 Turn off the d.c.w. inlet isolating valve (13 in
Fig. 9.3) and turn on the hot water taps and any
drain cocks.

Emptying the c.h. system

1 Close the c.h. isolating valves (12 and 16 in
Fig. 9.3).
2 Open the central heating drain cock (24 in
Fig. 9.4).
3 A small quantity of water will remain in the
d.h.w. heat exchanger after draining. If the
boiler is being drained to prevent freezing, the
