General Information
The physical differences between the 5517B/C/D and 5517BL/DL/FL are:
• 5517B/C/D has a non- vented cover as shown in
Figure
1.
• 5517BL/DL/FL has a vented cover for heat isolation as shown in
Figure
1.
• 5517B/C/D beam height is 79.5 mm (see
Figure 26
on page 78).
• 5517BL/DL/FL beam height is 80.8 mm (see
Figure 27
on page 79).

lists the physical and operating differences. The primary difference
between the laser heads is the difference between their laser beam
reference frequencies. A larger frequency difference allows measurements
involving motion to be made at higher velocities (slew rates). See Chapter
