Test 17 us ing the wrap cables provided with your IBM 900 1 isolates the
planar board as a pos s ib l e cause of a diskette fault .
tests 2 0 , 2 1 , 2 2 , and 23 verify the proper funct i oning of the diskette
drives .
To perform the S i " diskette and diskette drive tests :
1 .
I f a cable is connected t o the processor parallel PPU port , discon
nect it and connect the wrap cable labeled TEST 1 7 to the Paral l e l
PPU port and t h e 8 " Floppy Disk port on the processor unit back
p late .
2 .
Call for Test 1 7 .
Echo Test - - Test 1 9 . " After you receive the "CONNECT TEST 1 7 CABLE "
message, press the F l O key or the EXEC s oftkey .
I f the test pas s es , proceed t o Step 4 .

Remove the wrap cable instal led in Step 1 and reconnect any cable
that may have been removed in Step 1 .

P l ac e a nonwrite protected scratch diskette in the drive t o be
tested.

Respond t o prompt on the CRT by enter ing 5 ( for Sf' ) , 1 or 2 for
