SCOPE
This chapter covers operations and observations that you can perform to
determine where a fault is occurring in the IBM 900 1 .
"Computer Startup" assists you in determining the causes of fau lts that
occur during the computer startup .
Testing" helps you isolate a mal functioning CRU from the resu lts of the
automat ic diagnostic testing .

COMPUTER STARTUP
Prior to powering on the IBM 900 1 , inspect it to ensure that a l l cables
are connected , a l l fuses are in good orde r , and the ROM plug-in drawer
is seated prope r l y . See Figure 5 - 1 2 .
When you power on the IBM 9001 , you should observe these three
