Upgrade Firmware

Follow this procedure to upgrade the R2 from the console port. This procedure also

applies if accessing the R2 using Telnet or an SSH client.

Manually launch NetRider Loader, go to the Program Files/RoamAbout/Manager

directory and double-click on the Loader.exe file, or start the TFTP server that you

want to use.

Choose Reset/Upgrade from the RoamAbout R2 Console Main menu.

Choose Upgrade Flash.

Enter the latest G*.Z file for firmware upgrades, or B*.BIN file for Boot ROM

upgrades in the Image file path.

Enter the TFTP Server IP address of the system running NetRider Loader, or your

TFTP server's IP address.

Press the space bar in the Download Type field and select one of the following:

• Application (for firmware upgrades)

• BootROM (for Boot ROM upgrades)

Choose Save. When the upgrade is compete, the console displays "Download Status

is complete".

Choose Reset/Upgrade from the Main menu.

Choose Reset Switch.

10. Choose Save to reset the unit.

Caution: The NetRider Loader application only indicates when the file copy is

completed, it does not indicate when the upgrade is complete.
