Check electronic flow switch, type IFM

Fig.40
Flow switch indications
LED
Several LEDs illuminate green.
LED "9" flashes green.
LED "0" flashes green.
LED for switching point illuminates orange.
LED for switching point illuminates red.
All LEDs illuminate alternately red and green.
No LED illuminates.

The electronic flow switch monitors the minimum flow
rate required for operating the heat pump.
1. Check the tip of the sensor regularly for deposits.
2. If required, clean the tip of the sensor with a cloth.
Remove stubborn deposits (such as limescale) with
commercially available vinegar-based cleaners.
3. Switch on the power supply.
LEDs "0" to "9" illuminate green in sequence and
then extinguish again.
Then follows the operating display.
Meaning
Indication between no (no LED illuminates) and maximum
flow rate (all LEDs illuminate green).
The higher the flow rate the more LEDs illuminate.
Flow rate higher than nominal flow rate
If required, carry out an operating display adjustment (High
Flow balancing, see below), for example if circulation pumps
had to be sized for higher flow rates.
Flow rate below minimum flow rate
Note
A fault is triggered if the flow rate undershoots the switching
point (message "D6 Flow switch").
Switching output closed; heat pump in standby mode
Switching output open; heat pump in a fault state (compres-
sor shuts down, message "D6 Flow switch", see
Vitotronic 200, type WO1C service instructions).
Short circuit at the switching output
Note
The current operating mode will be displayed once the short
circuit has been remedied.
Operating voltage < 85 V~ or power supply failure.
