5.4 Attaching the output elements
Attaching the output components
Do as follows when attaching the output components:
• Make sure that the balancing method of the output components is correct. The output
components must be balanced to balance quality grade G2.5 according to ISO 1940.
Rotary forces that exceed this are not permissible. Note that rotary forces can also occur
with coupling outputs.
• If an output component is shorter than the feather key with balancing type "H", you must
remove the section of the feather key that protrudes from the shaft contour and output
component to maintain the balance quality.
• Fit/remove the output components only using suitable equipment, as described below:
– Use the threaded hole in the shaft extension (front).
– If necessary, heat up the output components.
– When removing the output components, use a washer to maintain the centering in the
Motor without output components
Danger to life if the feather key is flung out
A feather key in the shaft is only secured during transport to avoid any falling out of the key.
An open feather key sitting in the shaft will be flung out in operation. Death or serious injury
can result.
• Remove an open feather key sitting in the shaft, or secure it so that it cannot be flung

Danger to life if rotating output components have no guard
Exposed rotating output components can result in severe injury.
• Cover all exposed output components using an appropriate guard.
