    2. For your safety Wireless System Monitor should be used in a local network. If you connect to the Internet via routers, etc., security measures should be taken to prevent access from outside. There is a possibility that a person who is not authorized to use your PC or an outsider could unintentionally operate or cause damage to files. We recommend that you set a password using the screen saver, etc.

  • Page 5 3.1 Installing Wireless System Monitor (1) From the Audio‒Technica website, download the latest version of the software for Wireless System Monitor. (2) Close any running program. Also, close any program running in background. (3) Unzip the downloaded program and execute “atwsm‒x.x.x.msi” in it. (4) Perform the installation by following the instructions on the wizard.

  • Page 7 3.2.1 How to connect a PC with ATW‒R6200 S (1) Turn off the PC and ATW‒R6200 S before connecting them to a hub or router with DHCP server. (2) Connect the ATW‒R6200 S to a hub or router with DHCP server and the PC to a hub or router with DHCP server using LAN cables. (3) If you add any additional ATW‒R6200 S receivers, connect LAN cables to available ports on the hub. (4) Turn on the hub or router with DHCP, ATW‒R6200 and PC, in this order. (5) After the successful connection, the link LED on the receiver's Network Interface jack will light up and its active LED will blink.

    3.2.2 Setting devices Setting a hub or router with DHCP server Setting ATW‒R6200 S Setting PC (Windows) (Note) If you want to automatically assign IP addresses in the LAN, you should enable the DHCP server on either the ATW‒R6200 S, or a hub or router with DHCP server. ■ More than one DHCP server should not exist in a LAN. The following table describes valid configurations for the DHCP server. ■ If you use the DHCP server on the ATW‒R6200 S or all the device settings use static IP addresses, a hub without the DHCP server function may be used.   • Page 9 Setting a hub or router with DHCP server ■ Enabling the DHCP server on the hub or router with DHCP server When you enable the DHCP server on the hub or router with DHCP server in use, refer to the device's user manual to configure the DHCP server. Alternatively, consult with your network administrator. ■ Enabling the DHCP server on the ATW‒R6200 S (see “Enabling the DHCP server on ATW‒ R6200 S”) Disable the DHCP server on the hub or router with DHCP server.
  • Page 10 Setting ATW‒R6200 S Enabling the DHCP server on ATW‒R6200 S If multiple ATW‒R6200 S receivers have been connected, enable the DHCP server on only one of them. Set a static IP address on the ATW‒R6200 S to be the DHCP server. (1) Set [IP Select] of [Network] to [STATIC]. 1) From the main menu, turn the control dial to select [Network] and press the control dial. 2) Select [IP Select] and press the control dial. 3) Select [STATIC] and press the control dial. (2) Set the IP address at [IP Address] of [Network].

(Note) Change the settings of subnet mask depending on the network environment. (3) Enable the DHCP server at [DHCP Server] of [Network]. 1) Turn the control dial to select [DHCP Server] and press the control dial. 2) Turn the control dial to select [ON] and press the control dial. 3) Configuring the DHCP server completes. After finishing all the settings for the network, restart the ATW‒R6200 S.
  • Page 12 Obtain an IP address for ATW‒R6200 S automatically (Note) If you want to automatically assign IP addresses, you should set Auto IP on the ATW‒ R6200 S. (Note) Auto IP for ATW‒R6200 S refers to DHCP client as it is generally called in a network. (1) Set [IP Select] of [Network] to [AutoIP]. 1) From the main menu, turn the control dial to select [Network] and press the control dial. 2) Select [IP Select] and press the control dial. 3) Select [AutoIP] and press the control dial. 4) Setting Auto IP address completes. After finishing all the settings for the network, restart the ATW‒R6200 S. Setting the IP address for ATW‒R6200 S as a static IP address Set the IP address so that it does not conflict with the assigned range for the configured DHCP server. (1) Set [IP Select] of [Network] to [STATIC].

  • Page 15 Setting PC (Windows) About configuring the firewall If your PC is protected by a firewall, you should permit access from Wireless System Monitor. (1) Configure the firewall. In the start menu search, type “Allowed Programs”. Click [Allow program to communicate through Windows Firewall] from the list. (2) Click [Change settings] and, in the list of “Allowed programs and features”, locate the checkbox for Wireless System Monitor.
  • Page 16 (3) Check all the boxes for Wireless System Monitor, including those of Domain, Home/Work (Private) and Public, and then press [OK].
  • Page 17 (Note) If you enable these settings, all the ports are opened for Wireless System Monitor. If you want to reduce the risk of obstruction from the Internet, permit port 5025 and configure an appropriate homegroup. For more information about the settings of the firewall, refer to the Microsoft website. Configuring DHCP client (1) Set to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP client). In the start menu search, type “ncpa.cpl” and press Enter to display “Network Connections”.

  • Page 21 Setting static IP address If you want to enter an IP address directly, open “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties” by following steps (1) to (3) above for “Configuring DHCP client”. (4) The “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties” appears. Click [Use the following IP address] and enter the IP address, subnet mask and default gateway, respectively. Click [Use the following DNS server addresses] and enter the preferred DNS server. After finishing the settings, click [OK].

    4.1 Details on menus 4.1.1 “File” menu Open Environment When you open the environment settings file, the saved registration data for ATW‒R6200 S is read. The saved data includes the MAC address and frequency of the receiver, and items that can be saved with the Receiver Information Setting. (1) From the menu, click [Open Environment] to open the “Open File” dialog. (2) Select the environment settings file to be opened and click [Open]. Clicking [Open] displays the “Receiver Configuration” dialog. The data read from the environment settings file is displayed on the “Receiver Configuration” table.
  • Page 25 (3) Click [OK] to update the main screen with the data registered in the environment settings file. Save Environment The currently held registration data for ATW‒R6200 S is saved in the environment settings file. The MAC address and frequency of the receiver, and items that can be saved with the Receiver Information Setting are saved. (1) From the menu, click [Save Environment] to open the “Save File” dialog.

    (2) Enter the desired file name in the list box for file name and click [Save]. Receiver Configuration Register an ATW‒R6200 S in Wireless System Monitor. You can also change the settings for an ATW‒R6200 S. (1) From the menu, click [Receiver Configuration] to open the “Receiver Configuration” dialog. IP SEARCH (1) In the “Receiver Configuration” dialog, click [IP search...].
  • Page 27 (2) The “IP Search” dialog opens and the ARP table for the currently connected network is displayed. If the IP of the connected ATW‒R6200 S is not displayed, click [Refresh] to display the table again. If the IP is still not displayed, check the network connection and settings. Click [Select All] to register all the IP addresses on the ARP table. If you select individual IP addresses, check the boxes next to the IP addresses. Click [OK] to return to the “Receiver Configuration” dialog. The registered ATW‒R6200 S then displayed in the table on the dialog and synchronization with the ATW‒R6200 S is performed.
  • Page 28 UPLOAD Update the ATW‒R6200 S connected to the network with the receiver settings data on the Receiver Configuration table.

  • Page 30 DELETE Select one of the registered ATW‒R6200 S receivers in the list to delete the ATW‒R6200 S from the registration. (1) Designate the row for the ATW‒R6200 S to be removed and click [Delete].
  • Page 31 (2) When the confirmation message appears, click [OK]. ALL DELETE Delete all the registered ATW‒R6200 S receivers from the list. Click [All Delete] to display the confirmation message and then click [OK].
  • Page 32 EDIT Select one of the registered ATW‒R6200 S receivers in the list to edit the IP address, NAME, BAND or frequency of the ATW‒R6200 S. (1) Designate the row for the ATW‒R6200 S to be edited and click [Edit]. (2) Change the desired item of IP address, NAME or frequency and click [OK]. For frequency bands that can be edited, see the item for the BAND icon. For other settings of the receiver, use the “Receiver Information Setting” dialog. Changing the settings will only update the values on the table. If you want to update the receiver with the settings, click [Upload].

    RF Monitor Unit Change the scale unit of the RF level meter to what is displayed on the menu. Each time you click [RF Monitor Unit], the Unit switches between [dBm] and [mW]. The unit of the RF level meter also changes accordingly. Monitor Matrix Set the numbers of columns and rows to wrap for each panel display. (1) Clicking [Monitor Matrix...] displays the “Monitor Matrix Setting” dialog. (2) Adjust the wrap numbers for the panel display type to be changed and click [OK].

    4.2 Buttons and icons There are buttons to start or stop monitoring. There are also BAND and MEMO icons. The BAND icon indicates which frequency band the registered ATW‒R6200 S is using. In addition, by clicking the BAND icon, you can change frequency bands. With the MEMO icon, you can make a note for each registered ATW‒R6200 S. Start monitoring button Start communicating with the ATW‒R6200 S and display the data for the RF level, antenna selection, audio level and battery indicator that is transmitted from the ATW‒R6200 S. Click [Start]. Monitoring is started. Start monitoring button Stop monitoring button Close the communication with the ATW‒R6200 S. Click [Stop]. Monitoring is stopped. Stop monitoring button MEMO Icon Clicking the MEMO icon displays the list box. You can make a note for each registered ATW‒ R6200 S. MEMO Icon Type a memo and click [OK] to register it. The MEMO icon is enabled and hovering the mouse over the MEMO icon displays the contents of the memo.

    4.3 Panel layout RF level meter Displays the RF level of radio wave coming from receiving antennas A and B on the ATW‒ R6200 S, in the ‒90 to ‒50 dBm range. The lamp above the vertical meter and to the right of the horizontal meter indicates whether the A or B antenna is selected by the tuner. AF level meter Displays the audio level of the transmitter received by the ATW‒R6200 S, in the ‒40 to +18 dB range. If +18 dB is exceeded, the PEAK indicator above the vertical meter and to the right of the horizontal meter lights up. Battery indicator Indicates the battery status of the transmitter received by the ATW‒R6200 S. Battery indicator display Battery status Remaining battery level is 75％ or more. Remaining battery level is 50 ‒ 75％. Remaining battery level is 25 ‒ 50%. Remaining battery level is 25％ or less. Replace the battery.

You can also change the NAME displayed on the receiver. In order to update the receiver with the settings, use [Upload] from the [File] menu or the [Upload] button on “Receiver Configuration”. Frequency combo box Clicking the frequency displays the list box for the frequency. You can change the frequency of the receiver. In order to update the receiver with the settings, use [Upload] from the [File] menu or the [Upload] button on “Receiver Configuration”.

    5.1 Registering devices 5.1.1 Registering all new ATW‒R6200 S receivers (1) From the [File] menu, click [Receiver Configuration]. (2) The “Receiver Configuration” dialog appears. Click [IP Search...]. (3) The “IP Search” dialog appears. Confirm the number of the connected ATW‒R6200 S...

(4) Click Monitor Start button or click [Monitor Start] from the [File] list on the menu to start monitoring ATW‒R6200 S. 5.1.2 Registering an ATW‒R6200 S in the existing network. (1) From the [File] menu, click [Open Environment] to read the saved settings file. (2) The “Receiver Configuration” dialog appears and the saved ATW‒R6200 S receivers are displayed in the list. Click [IP Search...].

Confirm that the MAC address of the newly added ATW‒R6200 S is in the list, check all the boxes and click [OK]. When the registration completes, the added ATW‒R6200 S appears in the list on the “Receiver Configuration” dialog and synchronization is performed.

When “Are you sure you want to override the configurations of the receivers?” is displayed, click [OK]. If the update completes successfully, “Synchronize” is displayed in the Synchronize column. When you click [OK] on the “Receiver Configuration” dialog, the “Wireless System Monitor” dialog opens again. (6) If you click [Save Environment] from the [File] menu and overwrite the original settings file, the data will update the next time you read the saved file. (2) The “Receiver Configuration” dialog appears. Confirm the MAC address of the ATW‒R6200 S to be deleted, select it in the list and click [Delete]. (3) The confirmation message for deleting the row appears. When you click [OK], the row is deleted from the list.

    7. Troubleshooting ■ Communication fails. 1. Is the ATW‒R6200 S or the hub or router with DHCP server powered on? ■ LAN access LED or link LED on ATW‒R6200 S does not light up. 1. Are the LAN cables securely connected to the LAN ports? 2. Are any LAN cables disconnected? ■ Searching IP address of ATW‒R6200 S from Wireless System Monitor fails. 1. Is the PC firewall enabled? Please refer to “About configuring the firewall”. 2. Are both the local network and wireless network enabled simultaneously for PC network connection? 3. Is a DHCP server enabled when an IP address is automatically obtained in the local network? 4. Is more than one DHCP server enabled when an IP address is automatically obtained in the local network? ■ ATW‒R6200 S is not operational. 1. While an ATW‒R6200 S is monitored, operating the keys on the ATW‒ R6200 S is prohibited. Turn off the monitor before operating the ATW‒ R6200 S. 2. If you close Wireless System Monitor before turning off the monitor, the ATW‒R6200 S may not be unlocked. In such a case, turn off and restart the ATW‒R6200 S. 3. Is the key lock for the ATW‒R6200 S enabled? Refer to “ATW‒R6200 S User Manual” to unlock the key.
