To Arm the Alarm System

Your alarm system can be programmed for active or passive arming. Active
arming means the system can only be armed with the remote control. Passive
arming means the system will automatically arm itself. (See the "Programming
Table for system Features"on page 10.)
Active Arming:
Press remote button #1 for 1-2 seconds. The siren will chirp twice, the parking
lights will flash twice, the doors will lock, the LED will flash slowly and the
starter will be disabled.
* If your system was installed with the door lock/unlock feature,
All other door lock/unlock related features will apply.
Passive Arming:
Turn the ignition key "OFF," exit the vehicle and close the doors. When the
interior lights turn off, the LED will begin flashing rapidly to indicate the alarm
is passive arming. After 30 seconds, the siren will chirp twice, the parking
lights will flash twice, the LED will flash slowly and the starter will be disabled
(at any time during passive arming, the alarm can be actively armed).

To Disarm the Alarm System

Press remote button #1 for 1-2 seconds. The siren will chirp once, the parking
lights will flash once, the doors will unlock, the interior lights will turn on, the
LED will turn off and the starter will be enabled.

Operation of the Anti-Carjacking Feature

There are two separate stages for anti-carjacking activation.
Alert Mode:
The Anti-Carjacking activation begins as soon as the ignition key is turned
"ON" or the engine is started. After 10 seconds, the siren will begin chirping to
alert you to deactivate the feature with your remote control. If the feature is
not deactivated, the siren will continue to chirp 7 times which takes
approximately 15 seconds. The parking lights will then begin to flash for 10
seconds. This will give you a total of 35 seconds to deavtivate the
anti-carjacking feature with your remote control.
