NOTE: The fingerprint reader spare part kit does not include the fingerprint reader bracket or fingerprint reader
cable. The fingerprint reader bracket is available using spare part number L20691-001. The fingerprint
reader cable is available using spare part number L20684-001.
Description
For use only on computer models in natural silver finish
Before removing the fingerprint reader, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

Remove the fingerprint reader:
1. Release the ZIF connector (1) to which fingerprint reader cable is connected, and then disconnect
the fingerprint reader cable from the fingerprint reader.
2. Release the ZIF connector (2) to which fingerprint reader cable is connected, and then disconnect
the fingerprint reader cable from the fingerprint reader.
3. Remove the Phillips M2.0×4.1 screw (3) that secure the fingerprint reader to the keyboard/top cover.
