10. Install the Finished Wall
For Bath Only Installations
NOTE: Apply the wall material over the bath flange leaving a 1/4" (6 mm) gap between the bath rim edge
and the wall material. This gap helps to reduce the possibility of water seeping into the wall material.
Brush all dust and debris from the bath flange.
Cover the framing around the bath with water-resistant wall material.
Seal the 1/4" (6 mm) gap between the bath rim edge and the water-resistant wall material with
silicone sealant. Allow the sealant to cure according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
Apply the finished wall material over the bath flange leaving a 1/4" (6 mm) gap between the bath
rim edge and the wall material.
Install the finished wall over the water-resistant wall material.
11. Complete the Plumbing Installation
For all Installations
CAUTION: Risk of property damage. Ensure a watertight seal on the bath drain and overflow.
Connect the drain to the trap according to the drain manufacturer's instructions.
Apply silicone sealant to all openings around valves and outlets before installing the cover plates or
flanges.
Install the faucet trim according to the faucet manufacturer's instructions.
Install the bath spout according to the faucet manufacturer's instructions.
Remove the protective covering from the basin of the bath.
Verify that the showerhead is not installed.
Open the hot and cold water supplies to the bath.
Check the operation of each faucet or control. Make any required adjustments according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
Run the water to flush any debris from the supply lines.
Close the shower controls and faucets.
Install the showerhead and flange according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Check the operation of the showerhead. Make any required adjustments according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
