Interface Troubleshooting

Problem
Printer doesn't print.
Print disordered.
Error message is displayed
and printer doesn't print.
• Paper and ribbon are not
the specified type.
• Present paper quality
doesn't match the print
head offset.
• Present width of the
paper doesn't match the
print head offset.
• Printer setting mode is
different.
• Setting of printing energy
level is not proper.
• Check the error messages on the control panel and correct
them, referring to Section 4.1 Error Messages.
The following should be considered as probable causes:
• Interface cable is not
properly connected.
• Interface cable is not the
standard type.
• Communication parameter
setting is not proper.

Cause and remedy
Change to the specified
type after checking the
paper and ribbon makers
and identification numbers if
necessary.
Adjust the offset. See Print
head offset adjustments.
Adjust the offset. See Print
head offset adjustments.
Check whether the setting
mode is the direct-thermal or
thermal-transfer and change it
if necessary.
Check the setting value of the
printing energy level and
adjust it if necessary.
Cause and remedy
Check that the interface cable
is connected properly.
Use the standard type.
Set the system maintenance
mode from the control panel
and check/correct the
communication parameter
value.
