Function
First print line**
Character set**
International character set**
Buffer**
* You can change these settings using the operator panel. See Chapter 6,

in the rest of this chapter.

FUNCTION Settings

The FUNCTION settings control various printer functions, such as the page
length and character set you want to use. The printer functions defined by
the FUNCTION settings are determined by the printer control mode. The
printer has three control modes:
BJ mode, which emulates the IBM Proprinter X24E
Epson LQ mode, which emulates the Epson LQ printers
Canon Extended mode, which is used in the Canon Windows driver
and with some MS-DOS applications
N
In Canon Extended mode, the printer overrides the FUNCTION settings.
Thus, when you are printing through the Windows environment, you can
ignore the information regarding FUNCTION and default settings.
