Problem
You cannot dial
The phone disconnects
while you are talking
on the line

Copying Problems

Problem
The MultiPASS will not
make a copy

Troubleshooting
Cause
The telephone line may
not be connected properly.
The unit may not be getting
power.
The MultiPASS may not
be set for the type of
telephone line in use
(pulse/tone).
The MultiPASS may not be
plugged in properly.
If the MultiPASS is in
Answer Machine Mode and
Silent Receive is enabled,
the unit will switch to fax
receive mode when it detects
a period of silence.
Cause
The document may not be
loaded correctly in the ADF.
The telephone may be off hook.
The toner cartridge is not
installed.
The MultiPASS may not be
be operating properly.
Solution
Be sure the telephone line is
correctly connected to the
MultiPASS (see your Quick Start
Guide).
Make sure the power cord is
connected to the MultiPASS
and to an AC outlet; make
sure the AC outlet has power.
If you have a pulse line, be
sure the MultiPASS is set for
pulse dialing (see page 8-4).
Make sure the MultiPASS
is plugged in correctly.
Disable the "If Silence is heard
for" option in the Answering
Machine Mode Option of the
Advanced Receive Fax dialog
box.
Solution
Make sure the document is set
facedown in the ADF and the
LCD displays

Make sure the operator panel
is closed.
Make sure the telephone is
in its cradle.
Make sure the toner cartridge
is installed correctly.
Try to print a document from
your computer.
