Safety Information
To avoid possible eye damage caused by hazardous radiation, never look
directly into optical output connectors. Some sources produce invisible
radiation that can permanently damage your eyes.
Using the Launch Fiber
Figure 1 shows where to connect launch and fibers for OTDR tests. Always clean all
connectors before making connections.
To remove the launch and receive fibers' losses and lengths from measurements, use
the tester's launch fiber compensation function. See the OF-500 OptiFiber Users
Manual or the tester's online help for details and additional information on launch
and receive fibers.
