Diagnostic programs and error messages
The system diagnostic programs are stored on the Device Drivers and IBM
Enhanced Diagnostics CD that comes with the computer. These programs are the
primary method of testing the major components of the computer and assist in
isolating problems in the computer hardware and software. The diagnostic programs
run independently of the operating system and must be run from either a CD or
diskette.
This diskette, known as an IBM Enhanced Diagnostics diskette, can be created
using Access IBM. You can also download the latest version of the diagnostics
programs from http://www.ibm.com/pc/support on the World Wide Web and use the
downloaded file to create an IBM Enhanced Diagnostics diskette. See "IBM
Enhanced Diagnostics diskette" on page 19 for instructions.
