B. Lever Assembly - Monticello
1. Remove the handle insert from packaging.
2. Thread insert into Handle Hub.
C. Handle Adapter Assembly
1. Before installing the Handle Adapter, make sure that the dimple on
the valve stem is facing up.
2. Install the Handle Adapter as shown above, making sure that the
double ribbed notch is pointing downwards. Tighten into place
using the supplied screw.

Valve Stem Dimple
A. Install Escutcheon
1. Prior to Escutcheon (7) installation, verify that the plaster ground
has been removed from the valve so that the trim will fit properly.

2. Insert the Mounting Cup (6), passing through the Escutcheon
such that the slot on the back of the Mounting Cup faces
upwards.
3. Screw the Escutcheon Retainer Nut (5) onto the threaded
portion of the valve stem using the supplied wrench (8), and
tighten the Escutcheon and Mounting Cup into place. Make sure
that the "MOEN" insignia on the Escutcheon is aligned in the
bottom position. Tighten the nut until the Escutcheon Gasket is
fully compressed (Escutcheon contacts wall), then tighten nut
another quarter turn.
Knob Assembly (Monticello only)
Attach the End Cap to the Knob with the supplied screw, as shown
above.

3. Next, slide the Handle onto the Handle Adapter, as shown.
Tighten the Handle to the Handle Adapter using the supplied set
screw. Tighten the screw one full turn after screw makes contact
with Handle Adapter.
