Maintenance of the electrical equipment

Replacing equipment
Work on electrical systems or equipment can only be carried out if a "permit" has been granted.
When replacing electrical equipment, the intended use with regard to temperature class,
explosion group and the corresponding (Ex) Zone must be observed. Certificates of conformity,
EU special test certificates, and design approval must be available.
Maintaining apparatus
Repaired electrical equipment may only be put back into operation if the following conditions
are met:
• The equipment has been tested by a recognized expert (e.g. expert in accordance with
Section 15 of the ElexV)
• The test has been certified.
Exception:
Explosion protection was not affected by the repair.
• If the repair affects explosion protection, only use spare parts that are original or certified for
this maintenance.
If makeshift repairs are performed, they must guarantee explosion protection and ensure that
no other hazards can occur.
