    TURNING OFF THE GRILL: 1. Turn off the cylinder valve. 2. Turn all burner control knobs to the "OFF" position. Note: Turn off LP cylinder first to prevent gas from being left in the system under pressure. CAUTION! • The cylinder valve should always be in the off, or closed, position when the grill is not in use.

    TO MINIMIZE FLARE-UPS: • Trim excess fat from meats prior to cooking. • Cook meats with high fat contents (chicken or pork) on Low settings or indirectly. • Ensure that your grill is on level ground and the grease is allowed to evacuate the grill through the drain hole in the bottom and into grease cup.

    CHARCOAL GRILL GENERAL WARNINGS • Only use this grill on a hard, level, non-combustible, stable surface (concrete, ground, etc.) capable of supporting the weight of the grill. Never use on wooden or other surfaces that could burn. • DO NOT use grill without charcoal ash tray in place. DO NOT attempt to remove charcoal ash tray while tray contains hot coals.

    READ ALL SAFETY WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY PREHEATING YOUR GRILL: Prior to your first use of the Brinkmann Professional Dual Zone Charcoal/Gas Grill, follow the instructions below carefully to preheat your grill. Preheating your grill will rid the grill of paint odor that can impart unnatural flavors to the first meal prepared on your Brinkmann Professional Dual Zone Charcoal/Gas Grill.

    GRILLING/SEARING 1. Follow the instructions above to build a fire. 2. Place cooking grills on grill support lips. Use charcoal grate adjuster cranks to position charcoal grate to desired cooking level. Position it low for slow grilling, in the middle for medium grilling or up high for searing meats.
