1-12. Updating the Software
The software of this unit can be updated by the following procedures.
Equipment
. ROM-28 board (Sony Part No. : A-8326-017-A)
Preparation
Save the updating program in the ROMs H (IC2) and L (IC3) on the ROM-28 board.

For details of saving the updating program, contact your local Sony Sales Office/Service Center.
Procedures
1. Remove the top panel. (Refer to Section 1-4.)
2. Connect the connector CN1 on the ROM-28 board to the connector CN502 on the MDM-11 board.
3. Set the switch S1 on the ROM-28 board to DOWN LOAD side.

4. Turn on the power. Then the data stored in the ROM-28 board are transferred to the ROM on the
MDM-11 board.
While writing, OUT lamps blink in order from INT to EXT 1 of STREAM indicators and then OUT
lamp of EXT 2 lights on completion of writing.
5. Turn off the power, and remove the ROM-28 board.
6. Reattach the top panel. (Refer to Section 1-4.)
7. Turn on the power. The updating of the software starts.
