EXCALIBUR LOG REPORTS

Select Files

The current log file (identified by the ".EXL" extension to the
file name) is used as default for creating reports to view or
print via the "Reports" function, page 3-2.
To create a report from an different log file, select the "Select
File" function from the Log Reports menu bar. A dialog box is
displayed, illustrated above, allowing the selection of a
directory and file for report creation. When a file is selected,
the name of the file, with its directory, is shown in the "File:"
box at the top of the file list. Select "OK" to exit the dialog
box and use the selected file. Select the "Reports" command,
page 3-2, to create a report from the selected log file.
To return to the default (current) log file, choose "Select File"
and select "Cancel".

Backup Files

To backup a file on a floppy disc, select the "Backup File"
menu function. A dialog box is displayed, illustrated below,
allowing the selection of a "Source" directory and file to back
up, and the "Target" disc drive on which to save the file.
The target disc drive selected (A: or B:) should have the same
capacity as the log file size selected by the Excalibur System
Setup program, 1.2MB or 1.44M. After selecting the Source
file and the Target drive, insert a formatted, blank floppy disc
into the target drive and select "OK". The disc must be
formatted and blank. The log file size is 1.2MB or 1.4MB and
completely fills one blank disc. After the file is saved, the
dialog box closes. If errors occur, such as not enough room on
the disc, a message box is displayed indicating the error.
If the log file is to be saved to a subdirectory on a floppy, or
even a subdirectory on the "C:" or "D:" drive, type the desired
path into the Target directory entry box.
Note: Since the purpose of making a backup file is to provide
protection if the hard disc fails, files should be backed up to
a floppy disc instead of another directory on the hard drive.

Exiting Log Reports

When finished viewing or backing up logs, select the Exit
menu function. If Log Reports was started from within
Excalibur (page 2-6), that program resumes operating.
