Video ID Icons
The video ID icon is used to view a person at a door before
deciding whether to open the door. This icon may be
configured in one of three ways: a pan/tilt camera, a camera or
mirror with tilt control, or a fixed camera view, all with a door
auxiliary relay control.
The first type of Video ID icon uses a camera with a pan/tilt
drive and a zoom lens to view a door or entry area. When this
icon is selected, the camera is called to the monitor assigned by
the icon setup program and a dialog box is displayed, similar to
the pan and tilt camera control, as illustrated below, except that
it includes an Open Door button.
To control the camera pan/tilt drive, press the arrow button and
release it when the camera is at the desired view. To control
the lens zoom or focus, press the respective button and hold
until the lens is at the desired view.
The "Open Door" button opens the door (non-latching) for as
long as the button is held. The "Run" and "Hold" buttons
control the camera display on the monitor and close the dialog
box, similar to camera icons dialog boxes, page 2-10.
The second icon type controls a split-screen badge ID mirror or
camera. The person under surveillance puts an ID badge in a
slot and the guard compares the picture on the badge with the
one from the camera. If they match, he unlocks the door.
When this icon is selected, a dialog box is displayed, as
illustrated below, with five buttons.
The up/down arrow buttons control the mirror or camera, to
view the person. The "Open Door" button opens the door for
as long as the button is held. The "Run" and "Hold" buttons
control the camera display on the monitor and close the dialog
box, similar to camera icons dialog boxes, page 2-10.
The third type of icon definition calls a fixed camera (no pan
or tilt controls) for viewing the door or entry area. When the
icon is selected a dialog box is displayed with "Hold", "Run",
and "Open Door" buttons, as illustrated below.
The "Open Door" button opens the door for as long as the
button is held. The "Run" and "Hold" buttons control the
camera display on the monitor and close the dialog box,
similar to camera icons dialog boxes, page 2-10.
