10 Reset

10.1 Wii Console RESET [Required]

If RESET is pressed while an application is executing, always perform a reset operation immediately
once the button is pressed. Also, do not perform any operation other than a reset when RESET is
used.
As an exception to the above, we recommend that RESET be disabled during the display of optical
disc drive 'fatal error' messages and the NAND_RESULT_CORRUPT error used with Wii system
memory. (In other words, give priority to 'fatal error' messages and the NAND_RESULT_CORRUPT
error.)
This is to avoid user confusion.
Refer to the Wii Console Reset/Shutdown Programming Manual (Reset_Shutdown.pdf) and
Revolution Optical Disc Drive Library (DVD.pdf), in the Revolution SDK, for details.

10.2 Wii Power Button [Required]

If the Power Button on the Wii console or Wii Remote is pressed while an application is executing,
always be sure to perform a shutdown immediately once the Power Button is pressed. Also, do not
perform any operation other than a shutdown when the Power Button is pressed.
As an exception to the above, we recommend that the Power Button be disabled during the display of
fatal error messages for the optical disc drive and the NAND_RESULT_CORRUPT error used with
Wii system memory. (In other words, give priority to fatal error messages and the
NAND_RESULT_CORRUPT error.)
This is to avoid user confusion.
Refer to the Wii Console Reset/Shutdown Programming Manual (Reset_Shutdown.pdf) and
Revolution Optical Disc Drive Library (DVD.pdf), in the Revolution SDK, for details.
