7.1.6
Lower Limit Value of the Controller Stick and Button Analog Input Value
[Recommended]
To prevent the application from acknowledging input when controller sticks or buttons are not being
used, please give an extra allowance to the lower limit value.
When a user is not touching the controller sticks or any buttons, the coordinates given by the
controller sticks or the buttons will not necessarily be those of the origin point. The offset given here
will vary for each controller, and will further show some variance each time the controller is used.
See the entries for WPADClampStick and the various clamp functions in the PAD library.
7.1.7
Upper Limit Value of the Controller Stick and Button Analog Input Value
[Required]
The upper limit of the analog input value from controller sticks and buttons will vary for each controller.
Do not create an operation that requires a value that is impossible to input.
Please keep the controller stick and button analog input value within the range set by Nintendo.
The resolution of individual controller sticks and buttons will show some variations between
controllers. The upper limit value for the same controller may also decrease over time due to age-
related wear.
In addition, each input value will have limits based on the shape of the controller frame. Make sure
that operation is not affected when the controller frame shape changes to expand the movement
range, as this will change the maximum input value.
See the entries for WPADClampStick and the various clamp functions in the PAD library.
7.1.8

Analog Input Value Range of Controller Stick and Button [Required]

Verify proper operation with all controller stick input values from +127 to -128 in the up/down and the
left/right direction and button analog input values from 0 to 255.
The above range of values may be input when the origin is shifted.
See the entries for WPADClampStick and the various clamp functions in the PAD library.
