4 Sound

4.1 Sound Setting [Information]

In the Wii sound setting menu, three selection types are available: mono, stereo, and surround.
Use the function SCGetSoundMode to acquire the system sound setting.

4.2 Applying Wii Console System Sound Settings [Required]

If the application supports the sound setting specified on the Wii console, it must use this sound mode.
If the application does not support surround or mono sound output, it should treat these settings as
stereo.
4.3 Sound Output for Applications Supporting Multiple Sound Settings
[Required]
If the application does not have a menu where the sound settings can be specified, obtain the Wii
system sound settings at application startup and apply these to the application sound settings.
Also, if the application does have a sound setting menu, use the system sound setting as the initial
value.
4.4 Do Not Modify the Audio Playback Frequency Within an Application
[Required]
Although the Wii audio system supports playback at a frequency of either 32 kHz or 48 kHz, once one
of these frequencies has been set for an application at startup, be sure not to change the frequency
setting again. The ability to change the playback frequency is limited due to hardware specifications.
