Derivative Gain Reduction—Input (Optional)
This input, labeled
D-GAIN RED
feedback loop. If no connections are made to the input, the gain does not change. If the
input is connected to ground, the drive gradually reduces derivative gain to a low value
whenever motion stops. When motion is commanded again, or if the motor shaft moves, the
drive instantly increases derivative gain to the value set by the derivative tuning pot. See
the Tuning section at the end of this chapter for more information. The internal schematic
for the input is shown in the next drawing.
Integral Gain Disable—Input (Optional)
This input, labeled
I-GAIN OFF
feedback loop. If this input is grounded, integral gain is disabled. If it is not grounded,
integral gain is determined by the tuning pot setting. (However, the tuning pot cannot
reduce integral gain to zero; you must ground
As an initial setting to simplify tuning, we recommend disabling integral gain by grounding
. You can add integral gain later, if necessary. The internal schematic for the
I-GAIN OFF
input is shown in the next drawing. See Tuning at the end of this chapter for more
information.

Derivative Gain Reduction & Integral Gain Disable Inputs
At this point in your installation procedure, you should have mounted your drive and motor,
and connected motor cables and controller cables (or indexer cables) to the drive.
The TQ10 does not have an on/off switch. When you plug the power cord into the drive, the
system will turn on. Therefore, before you apply power to the TQ10, verify the following:
Motor should be properly secured
Load should not yet be connected to motor shaft
Motor cable should be connected to drive
Drive should be properly mounted
Controller/Indexer cable should be connected to drive
Controller/Indexer cable should not be located close to motor cable
Apply Power
To apply power to the TQ10, plug one end of the power cord into the drive's AC Power
connector (cord length is 6 feet/1.8 m). Plug the other end of the cord into an AC power
source that meet these specifications:
