1. Position the top cover/keyboard upside down with the front toward you.
2. Detach the strips of grounding tape (1) that secure the touchpad to the computer.
3. Release the ZIF connector (2) to which the touchpad cable is connected, and then disconnect the touchpad
cable from the system board.
4. Detach the touchpad cable (3) from the top cover/keyboard. (The touchpad cable is attached to the top
cover/keyboard with double-sided adhesive.)
5. Remove the four Phillips M2.0 × 2.2 broad head screws (4) that secure the touchpad to the computer.
6. Remove the four Phillips M1.6 × 2.8 screws (5) that secure the touchpad bracket and touchpad to the
computer.
7. Remove the touchpad bracket (6).
The touchpad bracket is not available as a spare part component.
8. Remove the touchpad (7).
Reverse this procedure to install the touchpad.
